Selah is designed as a local-first app. Personal app data is stored on your device rather than in a Selah account. Depending on how you use the app, local device storage may include:
Sensitive local app data is protected using encryption at rest where supported, with encryption keys stored using device-backed secure storage where available.
Selah currently does not use account creation or personal cloud sync. The app may contact backend services to fetch curated app content, deliver lesson content, stream or download meditation audio, and operate app features that require remote generation or content delivery.
Under the current implementation, personal journals, prayers, moods, progress, and meditation history are intended to remain on-device and are not synced to a Selah user account.
Selah uses automated systems and AI-powered services to generate or assist with certain spiritual content, such as devotionals, series plans, and lesson content. When these features are used, relevant prompt data may be processed in order to produce the requested result.
You should not rely on AI-generated content as medical, legal, mental health, crisis, or emergency advice. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
If you enable reminders, Selah may schedule local notifications on your device for check-ins, lessons, and meditation prompts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or in the app where supported.
We do not sell your personal information. We may rely on infrastructure and service providers needed to operate the app’s remote content features. We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, or to protect the security, rights, or integrity of the app, users, or the public.
Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, clear it in-app where supported, or uninstall the app. Server-side operational data related to content delivery may be retained according to provider operational practices, logs, and legal requirements.
Selah is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction, unless permitted by applicable law and supervised as required. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you use Selah outside the country where our services are operated, remote content requests may be processed in other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date.
